Roger Dewey White, age 75 of Murphy, Texas, passed away unexpected, on Sunday December 29, 2019. Roger was born in Galveston, Texas, on January 31, 1944, to Edgar White and his wife, Lois.
Roger was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering. During Roger's working years, he had a career in Defense at Texas Instruments, and later Raytheon, as an Electrical Engineer. Roger, known as "W5RDW" in amateur radio, spent many hours in his ham shack at his home and attending Field Day and club activities. He was also proud of his accomplishment of contacting someone in most countries around the world.
Roger grew to be a faithful worshiper of Jehovah later in his life and spent many years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, attending services and book studies with his wife, Mary, and children. As he started having grandchildren, he enjoyed spending time at dance recitals, baseball games, football games, and numerous other activities they were involved in.
Roger is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mary; daughter, Jana Yarbrough and husband, Tim of Frisco, Texas; son, Craig White and wife, Jenni of Murphy, Texas; son, Jeff White and wife, Mary of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Tanner, Caleb, Ashlyn, Connor, Ava, Charlie and Austin. Roger is also survived by his brothers, Dexter White and his wife, Mary, and Mark White and his wife, Kathy.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Lois White, and his granddaughter, Emma Yarbrough.
Roger's life will be remembered by his friends and family in a private setting. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to https://campihope.org/, a foundation supporting children and their siblings who have cancer.
